What counts as dead
At each checkpoint (5 minutes, 1 hour and 24 hours after the coin was created) a launch is dead if any of these is true:
1. Jupiter no longer prices it.
2. Its market cap is at or below its launch market cap, the first price Jupiter showed within about a minute of creation.
3. Nobody traded it in the trailing window: the last 5 minutes for the 5-minute check, the last hour for the 1-hour and 24-hour checks.
Coverage and caveats
Launches come from Jupiter's public gems index, polled every 10 seconds; it lists the newest ~30 pools, so coins the index never shows are missed. Each coin is re-read through Jupiter's token API at each checkpoint. Percentages only count coins whose checkpoint has passed while DeathClock was running; the 1-hour and 24-hour numbers fill in as the clock runs and restart if the service is redeployed. "Dead" is a mechanical rule, not a judgement on anyone's project.
